About six miles south of Boone on NC 105, the tiny town of Foscoe is an increasingly popular place to pause, shop, and survey the scenery.
The Greater Foscoe Mining Company makes Foscoe "a treasure of a little town" for families, but there's much more, including one of the best views imaginable of Grandfather Mountain. The face of the old man towers high on the horizon.
Foscoe has become a blossoming destination for visitors thanks to a growing number of businesses. There are a variety of antique shops, a golf shop, delicious eateries, a tea shop, unique accommodations, a spa, a nearby winery, various art galleries, a few fishing shops/outfitters, a rushing section of the Watauga River, and much more all on an intimate and surprising scale.
Foscoe is a must-see stop in the Boone Area, especially if shopping is on your itinerary. Check out the Boone Area Buyer's Guide for more.
